Barberton Mines (Pty) LTD, a subsidiary company of Pan African Resources, is offering 5 (five) fulltime bursaries for undergraduates residing in our labour sending area (Barberton and surroundings). The fields of study are:


1X BENG/BSC Mining Engineering

1X  Bachelor of Mineral/Mine Surveying

1X BENG/ BSC Mechanical Engineering

2X BENG/BSC  Electrical and Electronic Engineering  


Note:

No bursaries will be awarded for fields of study not listed above. Bursaries are not always awarded in each field of study every year. Applicants should submit an application based on a real interest in the field and not only because they must secure a bursary.


Bursary includes:

Barberton Mines bursary is a comprehensive bursary which includes the following:

100% of the prescribed university tuition fees, registration fee and prescribed textbooks fees.

1X Laptop and e-learning prescribed textbooks. Barberton Mines will not be responsible for any Internet connectivity fees.

An amount equal to the average rate for accommodation in a single room at a university hostel at the university at which the Barberton Mines bursar is studying.

Monthly allowance for meals and travelling.


Note:

Prescribed tuition fees, registration, accommodation and textbook fees are paid directly to the university and the bookshop.

The monthly allowances are paid directly to the individual.



Our selection process:

Applications, with the letter of acceptance from the student’s preferred University in South Africa, should be submitted to Barberton Mines not later than Friday 05 January 2018 at 12H00. No late application will be considered.

All applicants shortlisted to attend an interview will be notified on or before Tuesday 09 January 2018. Notification is done telephonically as well as per written correspondence.

Applicants will not be reimbursed for travel expenses if residing around Barberton and its surroundings.

The outcome of the selection day will be communicated to successful applicants only, by Thursday, 11 January 2018.

Successful candidates will then be provided with comprehensive documentation (bursary agreement between both parties).

Bursaries are awarded for commencement in the 2019 academic year and no payments are made in respect of studies already completed.


Note:

Existing Barberton Mines bursars must not re-apply.
