Ms. Linda Carol Zulu, a Civil Engineering Technologist holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering, specialist in Urban Planning and Design. She is an innovative professional with immense experience in services infrastructure programmes. Her experience in local government includes but not limited to; municipal water services management including project steering the functions transfers to local government, water conservation & demand management, operations and maintenance, water and wastewater treatment and many other community based programmes, personnel management and water quality management programmes.

Preceding her current position in the municipality, Ms Zulu practised as an independent consultant offering total projects solutions, with a focus on services infrastructure planning, finance, operations and maintenance. As a consultant, she serviced several public and private entities in the SADC Region and has been involved in projects ranging from social housing, waste management, power generation, water treatment technology and infrastructure asset management, including international technology development and improvement.

Ms. Zulu is passionate about industry research and has been involved in several local and international programmes focused on the development and analysis of related technology. She is a former winner of the National Women in Water Award and a member of the Netherlands-South Africa Wetskills Programme 2012 winners for the development of an innovative wastewater treatment technology for re-use in agriculture; Sewage Treatment - a Walk in park! She is passionate about continued development and currently finalising her Master's Degree dissertation on the optimization of renewable energy production from wastewater treatment biosolids, a project aimed at the reduction of Green House Gases emissions.
