The Giraffe: Symbolizes visionary outlook of the new City of Mbombela as it aspires to become a metro. Giraffe’s strength includes seeing far into the future, ability to reach things that are unreachable to others, communication, intuition and ability to remain above the fray.
Alphabet “O”– the sun: The alphabet “O” in the name Mbombela is a critical feature of the logo. It represents the Sun drawing reference to the Mpumalanga Province, the place of the rising sun, which the City of Mbombela is the capital. The “O” also represent the warmth of the people of the City. It symbolises a new day and the rejuvenation of life through sun light.
